Robert Sirota, one of my favorite composers and a friend for many years, is Composer in Residence this season with Concerts On The Slope. He programmed a concert around his own powerful Triptych for string quartet – with Ravel’s Quartet and my own String Quartet No. 2, Intimations and Incarnations. Bob and I share a tendency to compose instrumental music about spiritual experience. It’s an honor to share this program with him, and to work with the Elmyr Quartet for this concert.
