MUDANG – Korean premiere!

Mudang – Korean for shaman – was inspired by the haunting sound of the Korean traditional oboe, the piri. The work exists in two versions: for piri with cello, and for piri with string quartet. I’m thrilled that the music will be heard in Korea for the first time, with the piri virtuoso Gamin – for whom I composed the work – and cellist Hyemin Jung.
