Program Note
John Duffy, the founder of Meet The Composer and a successful composer in his own right, was my mentor in arts administration while I worked at MTC in the 1990s. At the birth of our second child, John thoughtfully commissioned a suite of piano pieces that our children might one day play when they studied the piano. I aimed for an intermediate level of difficulty and devised curious titles that might send a child to the dictionary. Sad to say, neither of our children has yet reached the point of ability to play these little pieces!
